DANA WHITE OF UFC TRASHES BOXING!
Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) president
Dana White spoke his peace on boxing in the 60 Minutes interview December 10, 2006 and did not have anything positive to say
about the “manly” sport.
White made a call to say “bye-bye”
to boxing and called the sport boring and “…boxing sucks!”He
elaborated about the many injuries in the sport of boxing as well as deaths.When
asked about the UFC and how much he and his partners paid for the UFC, he claimed two million dollars. When asked how much the UFC is worth now, Mr. White smirked and said he did not know.
Then he had to give boxing another black eye by
insulting the promoters of boxing; noting that he is promoting the UFC for his passion and when his kids ”...grow up,
nobody will call him a scumbag promoter.”White indicated that the UFC
is bigger than boxing right now! (I wish I can sample what he was smoking!!!).
Well, Mr. White had just sat on Sixty Minutes
and lied his butt off.Boxing is a sport, which over the years had problems like
any other business, but it has given back to its participants, discipline, fitness, pride, entertainment and millions of dollars,
particularly to the poor of the world.These young men and women has fought,
entertained and given back to the world in every continent.I could mention a
list of great boxers from every continent and every race but the list will be too long.
Boxing takes the poor and mediocre and transforms
fighters, male and female, into model citizens more often than not.
MMA participants are mostly educated males who
have left the word of employment and join the ranks of the fight world.Most
MMA pros fight for the love of their sport, but they really do not have to.The
majority of the fighters in MMA was wrestlers in college or had a martial arts background in the grappling or kicking arts.
Most of them do not need the sport.
Dana White was a former boxer! (Don’t you
wonder how good he was or did he suck like the rest of boxing?).
He won’t tell us how much the UFC is worth,
but as far as him being a scumbag promoter, he has gotten Don King beat by a mile!
Look at what the UFC pay their fighters and Mr.
White is trying to start a UFC Europe on the backs of these fighter’s blood and sweat, reaping all the benefits from
television and short changing the fighters.

THESE WARRIORS IS LACKING IN MANY ASPECTS ESPECIALLY IN THEIR STAND UP FIGHTING!!!!
WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT ASPECTS TO WHAT THEY DO, THEY TEND TO BE JACKS OF ALL TRADES,
MASTER OF NONE SO TO SPEAK. MOST ALL OF THE FIGHTERS I SEE ARE ARE GRAPPLERS, WITH
AN EXCEPTION BEING THE DUTCH KICK BOXERS THAT ARE COMING OVER HERE TO COMPETE FOR
THE FAME NOT THE MONEY. BOXING IS ACTUALLY THE WEAKEST LINK TO WHAT THEY DO. THEY
LACK A LOT IN BOXING FOOTWORK, BALANCE, DEFENSE, & PROPER PUNCHING MECHANICS TO
ACHIEVE MAXIMUM PUNCHING POWER. THE SAME IS TRUE WITH THE KICK BOXERS THEY SEEM TO
HAVE MASTERED THE KICKING GAME CONTROLLING THE DISTANCE WITH BRUTAL SHIN KICKS &
PUSH KICKS TAKEN FROM THE THAIS'. MOST OF THESE FIGHTERS ARE JUMPING INTO A VOID
THAT WAS CREATED WHEN THE GRACIE'S FIRST CAME TO DENVER IN THE EARLY 1990'S. I WAS
THEIR AT RINGSIDE FOR THE FIRST 2 UFC CHAMPIONSHIPS. IT WAS SOMETHING NEW ," A GREAT
IDEA TO DEVELOP THE COMPLETE MARTIAL ARTIST TO SEE WHO WAS THE BEST ROUNDED FIGHTER
IN THE WORLD". BUT TO BE GOOD AT ALL PHASES OF THE SPORT WILL TAKE YEARS. THE CROSS
TRAINING TAKES A LOT OF TIME TO PERFECT THE TOTAL FIGHTER!!! SO WHAT WE SEE IS A
GROUP OF FIGHTERS THAT CROSS TRAIN BUT ONLY PERFECT ONE PORTION OF THEIR ARSENAL,
AND FOR THE MOST PART THE NEGLECTED PORTION OF THEIR ART IS THE BOXING. I AM
DEFINITELY NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANY OF THESE WARRIORS. I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR
A WARRIOR OF ANY KIND. HAVING BEEN A FORMER KICK BOXER & BOXER MYSELF. I DO THINK WE
CAN IMPROVE THE SPORT BUT WORKING TOGETHER TO BRING THE BEST TRAINERS OF EACH PHASE
OF THE SPORT TOGETHER TO PRODUCE A BETTER ROUNDED WARRIOR WHICH TAKES YEARS OF
TRAINING & CROSS TRAINING TO PERFECT. THIS IS THE ONE THING THAT THE GRACIE'S
BROUGHT TO DENVER WITH THEM, YEARS OF CROSS TRAINING. IN CONCEPT THIS IS THE BEST
WAY TO DEVELOPED A WARRIOR. BUT THE EGO'S GET IN THE WAY OF FINDING THE BEST
TRAINERS & THE SPORT IS STILL REALLY YOUNG WHEN YOU CONSIDER A LOT OF MARTIAL ARTS
ARE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD & CONTINUALLY EVOLVING. WRESTLING GOES BACK TO THE EARLY
OLYMPICS IN GREECE, AS DOES BOXING. MIKE IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CHECK OUT A TERRIBLE
TRAGEDY LOOK IN TO WHAT PROMOTERS ARE PAYING PRO KICK BOXERS THESE DAYS. IN
REFLECTING TO WHAT YOU SAID IN YOUR ARTICLE BOXING HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MEANS OF ESCAPE
FOR THE POOR PEOPLE OF THE WORLD. SOMETIMES IT IS THEIR ONLY ESCAPE !!!!! GENERALLY
SPEAKING THE POOR PEOPLE OF THE WORLD HAVE 2 WAYS OF CHANGING THEIR LIVES, ONE BEING

RECORD WAS A GREAT RECORD OF 0-1-0 HE FOUGHT ON 4/29/83 AND LOST ON POINTS TO A GUY
NAMED EDDIE FLANNING WHO HAD A RECORD OF 4-7-0 IN GAFFNEY, SOUTH CAROLINA.

Hopefully, we will get more responses on this topic. This is the first time I ever heard a person in another fighting
sport or art, downgrade boxing. From my experience, martial artists, wrestlers and boxers, all seem to share a brotherhood.
Muhammad Ali went to a Karate master to learn to punch better and currently mixed martial artists attend boxing clubs
to learn how to punch and move
Dana White has even hired boxing coaches in his training facility in Vegas.
Boxing is one of the world's most popular sports and the easiest to understand. Americans have been fighting in mixed
martial arts fights long before the Gracies came to the US, but the ones who have participated in MMA had to leave the
US to participate.
MMA is not new to the world, just the US.

hit the nail right on the head - this is a typical low self-esteem AO trying to bash other sports to enrich his domain.I’ve heard this AO on several shows, and could not believe his lack of knowledge
in boxing and even with his own sport (MMA).
He then follows up with outrageous lies of the great sport of boxing.
One gets the impression that
this guy is in a class by it self (himself) – “Scumbag” – hopefully his fighters can read through him just like the rest of us. Only time will tell,
it won’t be long till his small
kingdom crumbles.
This guy is really struggling
with himself. . . looking for ratings.

Boxing is arguably one of the biggest organized sport and the most simple self defense system in the world.
It has been popular since the beginning of time. I know it will outlast a wankster such as Dana White.
Monthly, I receive emails of young promoters who are starting up new mixed martial arts organizations in the US.
Its just a matter of time when these new promoters fight for the MMA market share that Dana now possess. He will find
out that these young promoters will add their brand of MMA to the sport and may out compete him in market share for television
and talent.
There are a lot of new players in the MMA field and I am looking forward to watching this sport and boxing continue to
grow!
