Search Box to find books or other items in Amazon such as toys, clothes, computers and more.
Amazon launched the Digital Text Platform, "Kindle", a system for authors to self publish
directly to Kindle Books. This platform has been promoted to establish authors by email and by advertisements at Amazon.com.
Authors can upload documents in several formats for delivery by Whispernet. Amazon also has a software application allowing
Kindle Books to be read on an iPhone or iPod Touch. It also has an application called "Kindle of PC's" that can be run in
a Windows PC. Due to the publisher's DRM (Digital Rights Management) policies, there is no "right of first sale" with
the e-books. Amazon is licensed, not purchased, so unlike paper books, buyers do not actually own their e-books.
